Carob Powder - The Chocolate Your Dog CAN Eat!
Raise your hand if your dog has ever snuck and ate some chocolate and you were so frightened that you called the emergency vet hotline and paid the fee only for them to tell you that your dog is fine. If your hand isn't raised, lucky you!
When thinking of treats to make for Pup Pastry, I really wanted to give our dogs some good ole "chocolate" treats that they can enjoy - usher in carob.
Carob is a great alternate to chocolate because it doesn't contain theobromine or caffeine, which is what dogs react to. It is still sweet and even looks and smells like chocolate. Like all of our ingredients, carob does provide health benefits to the dogs that eat them.
Carob contains calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, and protein. In addition to that, it is an excellent source of fiber and antioxidants. Carob also promotes good gut health.
Our newest cookie collection, Ginger House Cookies, contain carob as the main ingredient.
