New Ingredient - Chicory Root Inulin
One of the first cookies that I made was the Omega cookie (later renamed to Skintopia). It is a skin and coat health treat that contained omega 3 (hence the name) and coconut oil. Both of those oils are GREAT for your pup's skin and coat.
As I continue to grow and learn about ingredients that are beneficial to pups, I want to better the treats that I offer. In conclusion, I learned about a new ingredient: chicory root inulin. I have totally reworked the Omega cookie recipe to become even more of skin and coat health treat. That's why I included chicory root into the new recipe.
WHAT IS IT?
- Chicory root inulin is a natural and unprocessed prebiotic.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
- Inulin is an important component in treats and supplements as it helps to increase the likelihood of dogs absorbing all of the ingredients.
- Inulin is an ingredient in many of the highest-quality pet foods that have specific standards to promote gastrointestinal and overall health. It also helps dogs who have an issue absorbing fat and it contains antioxidants.
This new ingredient is also what gives the Omega Cookie it's new brown, distinct color.
